the windows that appear

"What has the church ever done for you?"

That was the question that was posed to me today by a co-worker.

He asked me what I would do with a 1/4 million dollars, I responded that I would tithe off the gross first, I would give that money to my church.

I smiled at him and I told him:
"What has the church done for me? It's not so much the church as it is my Savior and Lord, and let me tell you what He has done for me.

"He is the only reason I am here today, He saved me from hell, gave me his spirit, walks with me everyday, gives me the strength to carry on, the peace that cannot be understood, and the wisdom to make good decisions.

"But since you brought up the subject, do you mind if I ask you a question?"
"Sure"
"If you were to die tonight, do you know for certain that you would go to heaven?"
"Uhmm, that is a complicated question..."
"Not according to Scripture."
"Ok, sure, I think I would."
"Great, now let me ask you another question. You're standing in heaven before the throne of God, and He asks you 'Why should I let you into my heaven?' What do you say"
"uhhhhhhh, I don't know."
"Let me tell you what I would say, 'I am bought by the blood of Jesus.' When the Philipian Jailor asked Paul 'what must I do to be saved?', Paul said, [I read from acts 16:31 from my Bible that I had in my pocket] 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved...'

"It's like this, all you have to do is Admit you are a sinner; Believe that Jesus is the Son of God who lived a sinless life on Earth, died to save you from your sins and rose the third day; and commit your life to Him."

Now while I was explaining this to Jay, a customer asked me what I was doing, and I told her, "I am explaining to Jay, here, how to be saved."

She almost broke down into tears, she was deeply touched. She told me, "It was meant for you to tell me that, it was meant for me to hear you say that." God and her only know what was going on in her life, but I ask you this:

If I had been too scared to share to Jay, I would have missed the chance to not only clearly and concisely explain to him how to inherit eternal life, but also the chance to reach out and touch the life of this woman. What unseen windows do we miss when we allow our fear to steal our victory. I shared with Jay, and I gave him a gospel trac that clearly presents the Gospel, The rest is up to the Holy Spirit in his life.

One more example of the Ministry of Everyday in action.

The hand you see, and the hand you don't.
