a young child scared of hell

There once was a young child, 5 years old, who lived in a family of Godly people. He grew up with a Godly mother and father and a Godly set of grandparents. He knew at a young age what sin was and who Jesus was and what He did so very long ago. But this young child was enslaved by fear. He feared the spotlight, he feared the water, he feared what others would think, and he feared God, and he feared Satan, and he feared hell. So many of those fears motivated him to go in opposite directions, he was a confused little boy.

He knew that each day was a gift and not his own, that at any moment he could die. He knew that he would go to hell if he didn't conquer his other fears that kept him from accepting Christ, but they were just too much for him. This 5 year old boy fought a battle inside until 5 turned into 6, and then one week his church held a revival. This revival ended on the day before he turned 7. It was a tent revival, and it was a beautiful texas day, warm even in December. It was a Sunday, December 4th 1988, and God spoke to this young boy. "This is it, this is your last chance. Don't wait another day, you don't have any more time. Now is the time that you face your fears and beat them all down, or lose to them forever." That day, the little boy didn't wait for his father to come with him, like they had talked about. He just got up and went, his father saw him and followed. He walked up to the pastor and told him, "I want to be saved, because I don't want to go to hell." Finally, the battle that waged in him for 2 years was over, and fear lost out to love.

I was there that day, I remember it like it was yesterday. The boy's older brother came up to him after church and congratulated him, and the boy not wanting to be the center of attention said, "it's no big deal." The brother shared some words of great wisdom then and there, "You dingbat, it is a big deal. It's the biggest deal of your life!"

You see, that little boy was me, and soon the anniversary of that day will come again and I will remember that I made the right choice, 15 years later it only gets better.

What about you? Have you made that choice? Are you fighting battles inside? What side will you let win? Will you join my family today, don't wait another day, it may not come. "For God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind." 2 Tim. 1:7

herin lies the way to salvation
Romans
3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

10:9, 10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

hope to see ya in heaven!

I trust your judgement, however, I can't imagine a testamony that isn't appropriate for you to tell publically.
look forward to hearing it!
