I have learned enough about business in the 5 years of working for walmart and two years as a business major to understand that I don't get it.
The business minded person is someone who is wired to make money, profit. that is is goal. One problem, I don't care that much about money, so why am I a business student and why do I work at walmart? because I love people. I am not a business student as much as I am a management student and management is all about people. I work at walmart because it provides me an oppertunity to exercise my gift with people. I recieve a certain satisfaction and fulfillment from working with my crew and leading them, from knowing that they depend on me for guidance and help. it provides me a special oppertunity to share my faith by leading in a godly manner. it affords me special oppertunities to talk to people about Christ and why I follow Him. I feel as though I have a special position because my job allows me to invest in people, and that form of investment is far more valuable than the stock market.

I'm definitely doing it 'cause I need the money for the summer, but I'm also hoping I'll be able to have a positive impact on the lives of the people I work with while I'm there. It's such a... frustrating environment.
The people need a lot of love, and they need relationships with J.C.
The question I have is: how will I have an influence in that?

If you want to have a positive impact on people for Christ, here are some thoughts for you:
1.) Francis of Accici once said, "preach the gospel at all times, if necessary, use words."
live the Christ centered life. "Let you light so shine among men. . ."
2.) Make your focus right. By this I mean if you make your focus changing them, then you may do some good, God can do it, but if you make your make your focus Christ and improving your relationship with Him and getting to know Him better then you will leave an impact that you will never understand because you will be sincere. Sincerety is what really communicates to people in the world, if a christian wants to have a real power in there witness then they have to be sincere, so in our search for sincerety we must find the secret to sincerety, and that is to be totally focused on Christ, like AW Tozer whose central them in his life was to know God like God desired to be known by us. From that focus Tozer left an uncharted impact on the world around him.

I don't claim to be a Theology major or someone of great insight, but there is nothing about the stock market that is inately evil or sinfull.
However, over our own attitudes we should ever be watchfull, and the Bible says that the love of money is the root of many evils.
